Blue is the oldest color in a Maine room: the sky over the bay, the inside of a mussel shell, the line where water meets the horizon. Ours range from clear, bright blues to dusky, gray-washed ones.
Each rug is handmade from New Zealand wool, which takes dye deeply. Pair a deeper blue with cream and natural wood, or a lighter one with warm brass and linen.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know the blue will match my room?
Order a sample square. Screens can shift color, and a rug reads differently under natural light than under warm bulbs. Seeing the wool on your own floor settles it in a way no photograph can.
Can I get this design in a different color?
Most designs can be made in a custom colorway. Send us what you have in mind through the custom order form and we will respond within one business day.
Do blue rugs fade in sunlight?
Wool holds dye better than most fibers, but any rug in direct sun will shift over years. Rotate it twice a year to keep the exposure even.
