Shop Talk! with Designer Sashya Thind

Our featured designer this week is Sashya Thind.

Sashya’s interiors have a natural purity to them that seem to reflect softly worn shapes in nature, giving her interiors a soft, comforting vibe. Her use of natural materials and organic form give the rooms she designs the space to think and meditate on the overall aesthetic.

For a project in Connecticut, Sashya selected our Nebula Dream area rug for the living room.

Sashya shared her goal and inspiration for the room and why she selected our rug for this gorgeous project:

“The rug was selected to mimic the landscape seen outside the home. This closeup image also showcases the beauty of the rug which spoke to me. It reminded me of the natural landscape and the undulating water ripples in the Long island Sound.”

“I love how Sashya visualized our design in this space and connected it to the body of water this home overlooks, a tidal estuary where salt water and fresh water combine. My inspiration for this design was the clouds of dust and gas in outer space. The flowing colors and unusual shapes are spectacular. The connection between the two inspirations – an estuary with multiple rivers flowing into it and a storm in outer space seem uniquely related, allowing two different designers to create a beautiful space with multiple dimensions.”
